Welcome to the October 2 Collection featuring the Estate of Allen and Anna Mae Wenrich. This sale carries a beautiful history beginning with an infant Allen, taken in and cared for by Alice Petersheim. After hard times fell on Allen's parents, he was taken in by Alice Petersheim, a Mennonite woman known for caring for young orphans. Alice was a folk artist spending most days braiding and hooking rugs. She seemed to instill a love for antiques in a very young Allen. As he grew and reconnected with his biological family, he still stayed by Alice and cared for her as she aged. Her home and belongings were inherited by Allen and he and his wife Anna Mae continued collecting for decades.
